Joint Research and Research Meeting(NIG-JOINT)

NIG-JOINT is an open call for Joint Research and Research Meeting by NIG

National Institute of Genetics, Research Organization of Information and Systems (hereafter, NIG) is the Inter-University Research Institute which was established aiming to conduct comprehensive research regarding the basics of Genetics and its applications and to contribute the development of academic research.
In order to provide domestic and oversea researchers with the opportunity to collaborate, NIG-JOINT offers “Joint Research” and “Research Meeting” between researchers inside and outside of NIG
(Research representatives are requested to acknowledge NIG Joint Research when results based on this research project are published.)

1. [ Joint Research ]

Based on the application from researchers outside NIG, NIG researchers collaborate with them for conducting the research on the subject of application. The following three categories are solicited.
[ NIG-JOINT A ]:

Eligible applicants are researchers affiliated with domestic and overseas universities or research institutes. Travel expenses required for the researchers to visit NIG conducting the Joint Research are provided. (Up to 150,000JPY can be requested by an applicant.)

[ NIG-JOINT B ]:

Eligible applicants are researchers affiliated with domestic and overseas universities or research institutes. Travel and research expenses (supplies and other expenses used within NIG, in principle) required for the Joint Research are provided. (Up to 700,000JPY can be requested by an applicant for travel and research expenses.)
The joint research should be planned and conducted such that applicant or his/her joint research members stay at NIG for more than 7 days in total during the research period.

[ NIG-JOINT I -International Joint research- ]:

Eligible applicants are researchers affiliated with overseas universities or research institutes. Travel expenses required for the researchers to visit NIG conducting the Joint Research are provided. (More than 150,000JPY up to 350,000JPY can be requested by an applicant.)

  * Common Equipment at NIG are available to be used for the Joint Research. Please refer to the address below for the available Common Equipment.

2. [ Joint Research Meeting ]

The Joint Research Meeting is held among small number of researchers from inside and outside of NIG. It must be held at NIG, but online meeting is also permitted if necessary. Travel expenses are provided for the visits of researchers to NIG. In the case of online meeting, online meeting tool contract fee is provided. (Up to 350,000JPY can be requested by an applicant.)

The application must be completed via online application system called “Joint Research On-line Integrated System (JROIS)”

Joint Research On-line Integrated System (JROIS)  

As JROIS researcher ID is required for the first time applicants, please complete New user registration in advance. If you have already registered with JROIS, please login with your ID and password.
・The same account can be used for those who registered as a “Research Representative” on the former JROIS system.
If you registered only as a Joint research member or Host researcher on the former JROIS system, you are required to create a new account.

  2023 Application Forms Application form must be upload and submit in PDF format to JROIS.

Letter of Approval Forms
 If research representative’s affiliation is changed after the adoption, please change the registration information on the “Edit User” screen on JROIS and a Letter of Approval from the new organization should be submitted.
