Following the enactment of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Nagoya Protocol, users of genetic resources now need to comply with ABS regulations. The ABS Support Office provides assistance to ensure appropriate access to and use of genetic resources at universities and research institutes across the country, including NIG.

1. Support for ABS compliance
2. Support for activities related to international conventions involving genetic resources
3. Support for risk management and promotion of genetic resource utilization
4. Other support relevant to ethical, legal and social issues involving genetic resources
