~ A message from the AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) Council ~
Dr. Nori Kurata has been nominated and voted as the 2011 AAAS Fellow by the AAAS Council for distinguished contributions in traditional and modern rice genetics and genomics, and for contributions in the field of rice breeding. The tradition of AAAS Fellows began in 1874. The 2011 AAAS Fellows will be announced in the AAAS News & Notes section of the 23 December 2011 issue of Science. New Fellows will be presented with an official certificate and a gold and blue (representing science and engineering, respectively) rosette pin on Saturday, 18 February, at the AAAS Fellows Forum during the 2012 AAAS Annual Meeting.
