Request for Non-Use of Research Samples and Information (Opt-Out)
What is an Opt-Out?
An opt-out is a procedure for using previously collected samples or information for research purposes, or providing them to other research institutions, in which research participants are informed about the research and how their samples or information will be used or provided, and are given an opportunity to refuse such use or provision if they so wish.
In accordance with the Ethical Guidelines for Life Science and Medical Research Involving Human Subjects, this page provides information on research studies currently being conducted at the National Institute of Genetics (NIG), as well as research studies conducted using samples or information provided by NIG.
