Application Guidelines for NIG Special Collaboration with Research Students 2014

1. Number of Student to be accepted

2. Eligible Applicants

Graduate students in the master’s or doctoral course who are studying Genetics or related academic field.
 

3. Research Outline

Please refer to the attached Research Outline 2014. PIs who wish to entrust their students to NIG need consult with our host faculty members before preparing and submitting an application.

 

4. Acceptance Period

First Recruitment:  From April 1st, 2014 through March 31st, 2015 Second Recruitment: From October 1st, 2014 through September 30th, 2015

As a general rule, acceptance period is one year or less, but it is extendable upon request. However, students in the master’s course are not allowed to stay more than one year. If you wish to apply for the acceptance period other than above, please consult with NIG Research Promotion Team.

6. Submission Deadline

First Recruitment: Friday, February 21st, 2014 Second Recruitment: Friday, August 22nd, 2014

 

7. Acceptance Decision

Acceptance decision will be made based on screening of the submitted application and the it will be announced to the President or Dean of his/her home university.

 

8. Termination of Research Training

After the end of the research training period, a certificate of completion will be issued to the student and a completion notification letter will be sent to the President or Dean of his/her home university.
 

9. Accident Compensation

NIG does not offer any accident compensation insurance to students. Please purchase the following student insurance of the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services through your home university. This insurance is available only for Japanese students. Foreign students are required to purchase accident compensation insurance in their own country. [Reference]
