The nervous system transmits information from inside and outside our body and is necessary for maintaining and regulating homeostasis. For a long time, it has been thought that neurogenesis only occurs during the embryonic to neonatal period, and does not occur in the adult brain. This paper describes about the discovery of neurogenesis in the adult human hippocampus. In this lecture, we will learn about the process of discovering adult neurogenesis and discuss not only the significance of adult neurogenesis but also what is necessary for new discovery and your research.
