During development, transcription of genes is strictly controlled in a spatio-temporal manner. In this session, we will read about a study in which authors visualized transcription occuring in living Drosophila embryos in real time. In molecular biology textbooks, we learn that a key trigger for transcription initiation is the physical interaction (looping) between a promoter and an enhancer.
