Week 3: Choosing a title suited to the target audience

The title of your presentation is an extremely important element to create audience expectation. Often this is the only information that you can provide for the potential audience to decide whether or not to attend your presentation. Because the background and interest of each audience can be diverse depending on the occasion of your presentation, you must choose the title carefully so that it appears attractive to the particular target audience. This week we will discuss how to provide information in a way that is best suited for various types of audience. We will start by practicing summarizing a short presentation for different target audience. You will then use the technique to construct the ultimate summary: the title of a presentation.
