Week 15: Critiquing Presentations

As a young researcher, every opportunity to learn from experience should be taken as a chance to grow. Developing a critical eye when listening to another researcherfs presentation can help you to understand what works and what doesnft when it comes to describing your work in front of different audiences. Although you may hesitate to say something when you feel there is something wrong with a presentation, it is important that you take note of your ideas / thoughts and use them constructively to guide your own work. This unit will help you practice taking notes during presentations, and examine how to give constructive, helpful feedback. If you take notes at the presentations you attend throughout your career, these can help you formulate useful questions to ask of the presenter in Q&A sessions that ultimately help advance ideas and enhance scientific debate.
