Set 12: Individual Research Presentations

This is by far the most valuable opportunity the students will have this year.  Students will use real data to prepare and present a 10-minute presentation on their own actual research before their classmates, instructor, and university faculty resource persons.  The first two weeks students will present a preliminary version and receive feedback and advice from the audience.  The third week, all students will have an opportunity to present once more and get comments on what has improved and what is still unclear.  This is a rare and very valuable experience for students who have had little to no experience presenting their own research in front of an audience.  The chance to receive critique and advice not just on the scientific content, but on the presentation storyline and techniques, makes this means that even the most veteran presenters will find this an invaluable opportunity.
