Topic 5: Asking Questions We discuss the purpose and the importance of questions in a scientific seminar. We also look at the principal reasons that many students resist asking questions. We look at important skills for becoming a better listener with the goal of becoming a more skilled questioner. We watch videos of researchers talking about their experimental procedures and hypotheses. After making questions we discuss how to make them more effective easy to answer. We particularly focus on how to include our motivation for asking the question into the question itself. This topic continues for two weeks.
